Don't Feed the Fears

I’ve been wanting to start a Blog for a really long time, but I’ve always talked myself out of it. Afraid of rejection, judgement, and truthfully, the idea that no-one would really give a sh*t. Talking myself down and out before even giving it a real shot. I think as humans we all have a way of self-sabotaging; we’re our own worst critics. With that being said, yes, let's be honest - there are people that will pass judgement on us. But let’s make this clear: the judgement they’re handing out like free samples in the food court, stems from their OWN SH*T. Not ours. As long as we’re doing our BEST and coming from a place of love and integrity, thats all that really matters. Their thoughts about us really shouldn’t concern us. If there is something you’ve been wanting to do or try for a while but have been talking yourself out of, this is your sign to DO IT. Don’t let fear stop you.

When something scares us and we do it anyway, it forces us to grow, to learn about ourselves and can leave us with the outcome and mindset of feeling accomplished, confident and unstoppable. The more we face our fears and work through them, The more we realize that our fears can’t control us if we control them. Fears need to be fed to grow, and the more we feed them the more they will. When we tap into that idea and consciously decided to cut off the energy we invest into our fear - the illusions that have been constructed (and not always by us) - eventually they no longer have the room or space to exist. This may sound a little dramatic, I know. But it’s truth. I’ve pushed myself to work through a few fears in my life so far: fear of public speaking, fear of heights, fear of rejection. It doesn’t mean they don’t still pop up every once in a while - I just won’t allow them to stop me.

Is there anything in your life that you’ve talked yourself out of doing or pursuing out of fear? If so what was it? Can you share a time with me you went up against your fear and did it anyway? What did you do to help you overcome your fear? What was the outcome? How did it make you feel? Anything goes. I want this to be a place we can inspire EACH OTHER!
